Thumbs up Foo Fighters album

Just had my first listen to the new Foo's album (In Your Honor) and what a cracking album!

I was quite suprised by how much I liked disc 2 (the acoustic stuff) especially "Friend of a friend" which sounds like a Nirvana track.

Critically, the album has had mixed reviews, but apart from the first track on cd1 it's fantastic

Highly recommended!

what's wrong with that track, it's a show opener for sure, and one of the best quick songs I've heard in a while.
Track 1 on the 2nd album is my fave at the mo', got it on all the time, rattling the windows and boot
chris.

The Foos are rock gods. They can do no wrong in my eyes. But, can any track top `Everlong` from the `colour and the shape` album. I think not!. Going to get the new album today, if Tesco ain`t sold out!.

It starts well but I jut don't think it's a good track. Having said that, it gets better the more you hear it.

I might go and get QOTSA's new album this afternoon.

Pick up this month's Metal Hammer as there's an article featuring Dave Grohl talking about the new album. At one point it states that if you don't like FF now then the new album won't sway you. That's me out then! Each to their own, hope you enjoy it.

Foo's Album is really good but the QOTSA album has more of a mixed bag. In My Head and Little Sister are true to form QOTSA 'singles' where most of the rest has that acquired taste you got with a lot of SFTD. In all Songs For The Deaf is the better offering.

Grohl wrote it for the Pocketwatch demos, way back in 1990, shortly after meeting Kurt [Link]
