Default Moving from NTL to Sky Plus

I really want Sky+ but currently have my phone and, more importantly, my broadband connection with NTL as well and I don't really want to spend much more than I'm currently spending a month on combined TV/phone/internet.

I've got the Family pack thing with NTL (all the normal channels but no Sky Sports/Movies/Pr0n), 2Mb broadband and pay no line rental. I don't use the phone much (mainly use the free mins on our mobiles) except for calling my Mum in Tenerife a few times a month.

Usually, the bill comes to about £60 total.

Can anyone suggest any suppliers to look at?

I've already checked and I can't get Bulldog 8Mb

Been through a similar thing. Moved house went from having NTL to not being able to get it. Currently have sky+ and internet through seriouslyinternet.com Only had the interweb for a few weeks but so far so good. Service seems reliable, fixed ip if that interests you and the promise of an 8Mb connection when available for nothing. Some other stuff too, have a look at their website.

I stayed with NTL for Broadband & Phone & used Sky+ instead if cable.

Not sure of the cost difference, but I don't care - the cable boxes were crap and always needed re-booring - Sky+ is a joy - life changing.

I thought of that, but it means I'll be paying about £20 a month more overall and I'm not sure I'd be able to use my wireless router without the set top box.

I'm sure mine didn't work out that expensive......

NTL provided a new model type box instead of the set top box - has an RJ45 connection and worked with my router.

Also you'll probably want to upgrade to a bigger disk in the Sky+ box

The £20 comes from £10.50 line rental plus the difference between NTL and Sky+

I really don't want to go back to BT (thieving scum, IMHO )
