Road deaths

DfT figures released today show that road deaths in North Wales are up by 18%. North Wales is the area under the control of Brunstrom where police officers have just been given targets for the number of motorists they must persecute in a month and where Brunstrom has led an anti-motorist campaign, all in the name of safety of course, for some time now.
Interestingly in Durham, which doesn't have a camera partnership and where the Chief Constable rejects the need for speed cameras but supports extra training for drivers, deaths dropped by 24% from a figure that was already below the UK average per mile driven.
It is when you consider the human implications of these raw figures that you start to see just what is going on.
