Combating Laziness
I'm bone bloody idle and I'm beginning to **** myself off with it. Does anyone reckon a bit of hypnoterapy could help me? I just have no motivation or drive to do anything. The Mrs is getting really narked (althought she tries to hide it) and I do want to change, I just find it really hard to get up and going.

The time has come for me to make more effort, which is the start of makng the big change (which only I can make) but if there's anything that can help me (like hypnotherapy) I'd like to give it a go. I guess I want the lazy route to becoming less lazy

Sounds like depression to me; especially if you give up half way through, cant concentrate on a task or cant see the point in starting. Try getting some excercise, if you can keep it up for a week or two then youll be hooked and its an excellent cure...

I think you may be right. I'm overweight and generally feel "not 100%" all the time. Problem is fitting in exercise with a full time job and a 7 month old baby, the Mrs wouldn't be impressed with me bogging off for 2 hours every night.

I think you may be on to something there! Right, the plan tomorrow is: get home from work, have tea and then take the sprog out for half an hour and give the Mrs a break.
Sometimes the answer is staring at you in the face.

Been through this, gets better as the kids get older, honest, you dont need to exercise for 2 hours, 20 mins every couple of days, perhaps an hour when you get time, I go out on my Mountain bike and come back buzzing.
I sometimes get a bit overwhelmed by life, fairly responsible job, 3 kids, house, 2 cars, missus etc etc, you just have to chill and try and concentrate on whats important.
Go on, f*ck off out for a half hour walk and I guarantee you will feel better when you get back, clears your head.

I heard something once that it takes 90% of your motivational effort to actually get up off your **** and do something, then once you are doing it, only 10% effort to keep it going.
Make an attempt to get over the 90% hurdle and you should be laughing.
Daz
..Either that or just buy one of those posters that has clouds and says motivation on the bottom of it. Should help.

I found myself being fed up at work, couldn't be arsed and even staying awake was a struggle! This week I've been out on the mountain bike a couple of mornings, just for 20 mins or so, it's made a huge difference! I found myself staying off here( !!! ) and actually doing some work and not only that, I'm more alert and the day even goes faster!
I'd deffo say it's worth a try!

Wait 'til the nipper is mobile, you won't be sitting around then. Or put it this way.... if you still are, your missus has every right to do away with you. !

Alcohol is bad and this society is gripped by it but not just alcohol, many other factors can effect motivation in your personal life e.g. wrong job, need of change in routine etc etc.Just make changes with even little things around you.Find interesting things like going for a walk, cinema etc with your family.
make an effort man!
You will be fine but if this fatigue continues without any reason, see the doc.
Good luck.
