Thumbs up Got my boy a great deal today

Went to the FOREST shop today with my lad to get er indoors a
new bag and a pair of slippers, well our Adam spotted the new FOREST tracksuit, so we wondered over ther to have a look see, and the price of it was £44.99 exactly i hear you cry well just as i was about to put it back, and say maybe next week, when i looked at the price on one suit the white one, and it said £4.99 so i looked again and again and yes it said £4.99 not once but twice, so i told Adam quick try it on and se if it fits, ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D well it did so i took it to the counter with the bag and slippers.

Well the assistant saw the mistake and tried it on telling me that the suit was £44.99 and not £4.99, so i kindly pointed out to her that it had 2 price tags on both stating £4.99 so i then mentioned that under the sale of goods act "as ammended" thats the good bit, the price stated is the price YOU must sell it to me for, well she laughed and said nice one, you have got yourself a bargain there sir.

Indeed i have and left smiling and happy as was our Adam

Just as well for you then that she doesn't actualy know the sale of goods act. You are in fact both wrong.

It's a common misconception that if an item is incorrectly priced that they have to sell it to you at that price. It's simply not true.

However some shops do have an internal policy that if something is wrongly priced then they will sell at that price.

Yep as I understand it the price tag is merely and advertisement for you to make an offer to purchase at that price. They can decline your offer.

Good deal tho - always nice when that happens

Simon.

A couple of varying angles on this thead......

When you see a car for sale on the forecourt and one of the number inside has fallen down does that mean they have to sell it to you at this price. £9999 now becomes £999, bargain

In a clothes shop, you see a sign which says ''everything on this rail £9.99'', can you pick the lot up, take it to the counter and expect to pay £9,99?

I was under the impression, if a price was wrong, they don't have to sell it to you but they do have to remove the item from display.

Used to get it all the time in when I worked in a shop, people would swap tickets on TV's etc.

What a load of BS mate. Sorry, but it has be said. This is Forest FFS - not Shell, Nestle or some other monsterous multi-national. NFFC have barely kept afloat over the last decade - sale of mechandise (at the correct price) is key to this historic clubs survival.

If you've been reading Naomi Kline, imagine how much good you could do by boycotting Shell.

Best Wishes

J - (Plymouth (we're doing nicely thank you) Argyle supporter)

Of course, otherwise the world and his wife would be turning up with their home-made 4.99 stickers, or swapping them round

That mart360 bloke's a bit of a miserable git isn't he
