Question In search of a safe

As per title i'm looking at purchasing a safe for the house to keep valubles in. I'm not looking at spending too much money. However i do want something that is of a better quality than one from argos.

Do anyone have any recommendations?

Bought a Sentry one from B&Q the other week, went for the Key rather than digital option. Was about £70. B&Q do a pretty good range if you go to a big one.

Do yourself a favour and go to a proper safe and lock shop, dont buy a mickymouse one from a chainstore.

If someone broke into your house they would quickly find a safe unless is was very well hidden if its a mickymouse one they will smash it out of its fixings and take it home to break it open.

Decent safes are £300 upwards, but theres no point getting one unless they are fitted correctly!

Exclamation

Look in the yellow pages and go to your nearest specialist.

No point in looking on the net.£200 for the safe,£500 postage and packing.

Just been looking at the sentry safes and they seem to be good. However theres a large markup on the price in the uk to what they sell them for in the U.S (obviously down to shipping costs etc.).

Scooby soon, it does seem as though the only safes worth getting seem to be at least £300. I have seen one from sentry that is around that figure, so it looks i may have to spend that bit extra.

Do an internet search for gun cabinets / safes. Depending on the size you need a safe designed for keeping ammo in could be just the thing. They are police approved for keeping bullets in so should be good enough. I know I keep anything valuable in mine. Damn site cheaper than a safe safe and it is fire proof.
