If you are looking for a night out and want something a little different then I'd highly recommend taking in a Cirque Du Soleil show.
Went last night with Rosie to Corteo and it was amazing. The story was somewhat odd, but totally and utterly mesmerising.
It would have been great regardless, but thanks to Kitty, we got the full VIP treatment, and were totally pampered.

Taken from the website:
Corteo, which means "cortege" in Italian, is a joyous procession, a festive parade imagined by a clown. The show brings together the passion of the actor with the grace and power of the acrobat to plunge the audience into a theatrical world of fun, comedy and spontaneity situated in a mysterious space between heaven and earth.
The clown pictures his own funeral taking place in a carnival atmosphere, watched over by quietly caring angels. Juxtaposing the large with the small, the ridiculous with the tragic and the magic of perfection with the charm of imperfection, the show highlights the strength and fragility of the clown, as well as his wisdom and kindness, to illustrate the portion of humanity that is within each of us. The music, by turns lyrical and playful, carries Corteo through a timeless celebration in which illusion teases reality.
So it's, umm, a little bit odd. Basically it's a bit of acting, bit of dance, bit of gymnastics (there are some girls who are very stretchy indeed
), bit of singing. It's all very visual and hard to explain.

Prior to last night I wasn't too sure on it, but I'll certainly be going again. I've got some of the DVD's of the shows, but it really doesn't do it justice.

All of the cirque shows are slightly 'off the wall' and rather bonkers all round. excellent entertainment though.
We saw La Nouba last week, totally nuts, but excellent.

I saw a "snapshot" of them in the States a few years ago and was really impressed. I'm not a fan of the circus type scene but found them to be very entertaining. So yes, a big
from me
