Where to go in Nottingham (stag do night out)
Hi all
Righto, if I can get some trousers that fit me (see other thread!) we're off out in Nottingham and the Stag has come over all girly and wants to know where we're off before we go out...as Best Man I figured we'd go where ever we staggered into!
Any tips as to where to go or where to avoid would be greatly apreciated, ta!

Hi,
I went to uni there for 3 years, its a wicked place to go out, just be careful where you end up as it gets dodgy.
If your looking for a club, Oceana (not OCEAN) is awesome. If you want cheap drinks in a dingy bar, Templars on Chaucer Street is decent, and its near Scream pubs. As for a pub crawl you will be fine heading into Market Sq, which is basically the town hall.
if you wait till late Sept, you will get the students back in
Have fun-stay away from the Medows and St Ann areas (basically behind the Victoria centre.

Yep, OCEAN is recommended as clubs go.
Hockley and the Lace Market are great for trendy bars. Basically just walk up the hill when you reach the Market Square and there are bars all over the place, most are decent. Coco Lounge is good, not cheap though.
Also, Rescue Rooms for a bit of trendy Indie and Stealth, which is a bit hardcore but apparently very good if thats your scene.
And there are some lap dancing clubs as well, but i dont know where (yet).
Have fun.

Ocean is chav central....come to think of it, Oceana is too.
The only places in Nottingham I'll go now are Castle Bar and BZR (near Nottingham castle)....or down to the lace market/hockley to Pitcher and Piano, Ha Ha Bar, Glass House, Brass Monkey, Bar 11, Voodoo etc. Places which tend to leave the chavs behind.
Tantra is quite nice too (where the old pizza factory was)

Really depends on what you're looking for on a night out. There's places ranging from traditional type pubs (Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem/Salutation/Bell Inn), 'townie' pubs full of chavs/kiddies/loud music, theme pubs/bars, places to sit outside (the canalside near the station is a good area for this), clubs of all description/music tastes.
My hometown. I love it

Thanks chaps!
I think middle of the road will do us, don't want to end up battling with chavs and can't afford to go posh!
I make note of the above and see how we get on, cheers!

If your there in the day got to sit at the riverside and have a few beers there (presuming its a nice day) then not far away take a visit to Hooters, its the only 1 int he UK so worth going in just for that and experience the american lifestyle..lol plus if its a stag do they should give you a good reception (usually have a few b'days etc in there and they get the guys to stand on a stool and down a pint. quite funny to watch) plus you get some sort of entertainment in there if you like that sort of thing
I dont recommend Ocean, had a few good nights in there but its defo the place to be for 16-18 yr olds now
Missies swears on going to Palais club, she always says she likes it in there, only been once and wasnt really impressed. The best place in nottingham IMO is The Lounge. I love it in there, plenty on good 80's 90's and modern music to get you up and dancing
theres alot of places in nottingham and Im sure you'll like where ever you end up.

Yes TonyG, NG1 is.... err.... a good night out
How many of you are there? cos you'll have trouble in the lace market bars, we never get in with only 4 lads together and have been told to leave when we split up and met up inside - they let us finish our drinks though
Ignore all the gun / knife / stabbing rumours, its not that bad. The city is fine and a wicked night out
What time you in Hooters? I'll be near there later
