Default 8 hours stuck in Sheffield, what to do ?

I am delivering my in laws to a wedding in Sheffield (from South Manchester) next Friday, it isnt really worth coming home for a few hours so anybody got any suggestions as to what to do from about noon for 8 hours ?

Its all because they want to booze, they dont want to get a hotel, my suggestion would be for once to not get hammered, drive there and drive back, dont mind really and it means we can parm the kids off on them for a weekend !

You could pop along the Snake Pass (A57) out of Sheffield for some driving fun, call into Ladybower Reservoir for a 3-4 hour walk if the weather's nice, turn off the Snake and head over Strines Moor for some even better driving fun, or waste loads of time and money on useless objects trolling around Meadowhall. There's Monty's Subaru dealers whim might give you a test drive if you ask nicely too.

I was there on Sunday competing in a motorbike trial, did you see any people hopping around on rocks (and falling off) PG?

So you got stitched up by the other half....I think that there is some making up to do here...There's a good trans-pennine train service that would cost less than the petrol, your time and expenses whilst having to pay to eat / drink / entertain yourself in any way

Cheers for all the replies, my brother in law is in the chair now which is better as he wouldnt need to take a day of work as he doesnt (he's a writer, havent read a book of his yet as one hasnt been released, but I look forward to it), thought I was off the hook but they want dropping off and pick up from one in Prestbury on Sunday, at least thats local I suppose !

I now have a week in Glasgow (evening only, on a course you see) so I will need to keep myself entertained up there now !
