I can guarantee that its not, I took it on my way into work this morning.

I just meant that surely it should be a BP tanker filling up the tanks?

I think the dodgiest thing is that the petrol is way too cheap. Costs more than that round here

Edited to add - Perhaps he's just stopping off for petrol?

Many of the fuel companies sub-contract their distribution to companies with branded liveries. There's also a Calor sign for LPG which BP could supply themselves but they use the experts instead.

Perhaps they had a shortage of tankers, and had to sub out delivery? I am sure they do not own the lorries, and it is normally dealt with by logistics companies - perhaps they did not have a liveried one available?

Wouldn't bother me anyways, BP petrol is ****!

I just wasnt sure if BP would normally sub it out to non branded logistics firms, plus, the last time I filled up from there, there was a higher than normal amount of knock activity recorded on my PFC commander. Just coincedence or could something like whats pictured above account for that maybe?

I'll tell you what's odd, the fact you took the trouble to start a thread on here after stopping to take a picture of a tanker on a petrol station forecourt....

The tractor unit looks like a BP spec unit, they may have just nicked the trailor for the day.

But it looks like a Wincanton unit, or the graphic on the cab door does at least. Plus the trailor is a small double axle unit, and the petrol site is quite small. Chances are Wincanton used the trailor for other contracts and have either subbed this trailor for the day, or its to be used permanently and they haven't got it painted yet for BP work. Most oil company fleets are now 6 axle tractor&trailor units which they use to deliver to there main larger sites, smaller more tricky stuff is often left to the contract drivers.

I should perhaps mention I used to a fuel delivery fleet analyst for Mobil Oil Co. who were subsequently taken over by BP in the UK.
