Default Hotel in Glasgow

Hello

I will be spending a couple of weeks in Glasgow for work next month. Customer is near Parkhead and the Forge Shopping centre. Have stayed at the Marriot a few times already but its a bit of a hike from the customer, and have been told its in a dodgy area for going out at night.

Can anyone recommend a good hotel in the centre near bars/restaurants ???

West End is far from a ****hole...

Druddle, who's picking up the tab for the stay? Some nice hotels around

TBH, you'd be as well getting a cab to and from the east end - the client isn't TCB per chance?

If money not an issue try www.langshotels.co.uk
you can get a duplex which is good long term as you have a living room with a bedroom on a mezzanine floor. Also one of the fancy body showers (and a playstation).
Stayed there a couple of times and breakfast is excellent. Right in the town centre behind the concert hall.

Diablo - client is AGB (think Irn Bru and you will get it !!!). Primepower/Solaris/Veritas Cluster/Oracle implementation.

Company is footing the bill......

Marriot was nice but seemed a long way from bars. Maybe the taxi driver went the scenic route....

I am up there next month at Oracle, was asking an Oracle guy what its like and he said he came out of the office and stepped over a bloke and a prostitute and came back in the morning to find loads of used rubbers, niiiiiice. Still the alternative was Reading or Manchester, Reading is boring apparently and I live in Manchester so I dont get to go on an aeroplane or stay in a nice hotel and have large cooked breakfasts.

Theres only one good thing about Parkhead, well not this season anyway
Other than that take a taxi from the office straight to your hotel, parkhead is a tip

The city centre on the other hand is a great place

Marriott is only a 5 minute walk from the centre, so ignore the taxi drivers
Enjoy

Jurys!

It about the best in terms of value for money against location IMHO.

We have an office in Glasgow and I always stay there. And I'm a complete Hotel SNOB!

Dave,

Jury's is nice, as is Langs.

The Arthouse hotel on Bath street is right in the middle and very good if a bit "bohemian"

Malmaison on West George Street is the best, but its not quite as close (closer than Marriot)

The Radison is nice, but not such great location.

The Millenium on George Square is ok, but getting on a bit.
