Siegfried Hauppl, mayor of F*u*king, says visitors come from nearby Salzburg to pose for pictures and, sometimes, to take signs home as souvenirs. “We had a vote last year on whether to rename the town, but decided to keep it as it is,” says Siegfried. “After all, F*u*king has existed for 800 years. We don’t give it a second thought.” But some villagers are reluctant to say where they are from, an embarrassment shared by two other Austrian villages: Windpassing and **** on the Lake. "
