Which mobile should I get?

I've always had a company mobile but I'm leaving on Friday and will need to get a mobile phone of my own. I would like one with a camera but that is about my only requirement.
Any advise on what to get, where to buy?
Also, what are your opinions on pay-as-you-go vs contract?

Just bought the Motorola Razr v 3 off ebay....... Love the BIG screen and the slimness of it . I'm running it on PAYG, it cost me £155 so I'm a happy bunny.

Nokia 8800. Had one for a couple of months and still really liking it whereas I'd usually be bored of it by now.
By far the sexiest looking phone on the market and pretty well specced too. Not the best camera but very serviceable and a SUPERB screen. Good battery life too. Added to amazing build quality, MP3 tones and a charger-stand which is as sexy as the phone itself and you can't go far wrong!
Unless you want it on PAYG in which case, prepare to spend some cash!

It's one of life's little pleasures being able to assign a picture of Godzilla along with his roar for when my mother-in-law calls

Thanks for al the advise.
I've been given an old Sony Ericsson - I'm sure scoobygurllover won't approve (not sure of the model - its black and silver and was the one used in Charlie's Angels apparently) - jeeze I sound like an 80 year old technophobe.
Just need a new sim card I guess.
