i am buying something from belgium that is large and will cost about 150-200 euros........how much would it cost for me to get a ticket on a boat thing and go get it.....and how far is it? is it further than say Berkshire to Liverpool? Geography not my strong point!
thats a shipping cost by the way not the item.

If you're not too picky about your times you can get ferry with car for as little as £25.
Dover is under an hour from the M25. Dpends where in belgium of course for the time that side but play with the aa web-site and you can get some approx times. Add in a stop-off for some wine etc and should be a relatively easy and pleasant daytrip.

it seems the cheapest way is to get a 1am ferry to france.....drive to belgium (AA says 2hr 30mins from Calais) drive back to ferry - chill till the eveening and come back on a 9pm ferry.
£25 for the boat + petrol.
just got a final post quote of £200 so looks like im on a ROAD TRIP!

My mate gets up early (2 hrs from Dover), gets the ferry, collects 5000 odd sturgeon and is back the same day. Wouldn't fancy bringing tank back on train......
Need a decent Estate though for 6 foot tank, Volvo or whatever.

Belgium is a big place, where is the item and where are you? I'll calculate the miles for you and then you'll have an idea how many tanks of fuel it'll cost you
