No storm here yet ![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Water does attenuate signals in the satellite TV frequency band a bit, they should have allowed for it in the link budgets though
I guess if the dish is soaked in water as well that doesn't help. Anyway best to disconnect it, if the dish is struck by lightening then all your kit (Sky+ box, TV, video, DVD player, home cinema, etc.) will be fried.
I'm on cable

Weird thing is, it went off a good few minutes before the rain. There was a distant rumble of thunder, then off it went. Turned the box off and back on, still didn't work so I went outside to check the dish and as I was outside, the first few drops of rain fell.

Sky is crap in bad weather. It only has to look like rain and the system freezes. You have to turn it off for 30 seconds then take the card out for 1 min and restart to get it working again. Wish I had cable where I live.

My signal breaks up in the heavy rain too - i guess a bigger dish or more sensitive LNB would be the way forward but it doesn't happen too often.
