Just nosing around on the net as my 12 months is up soon, is it me missing something or are there some really killer deals on 3G phones/contracts at the moment
For example,
Free handset, 12.99 a month for 400 minutes and 250 texts.
some offer free line rental, are they struggling or something ?

I had a 3G phone a few years back, the thing just p1553d me off so much i went back to Orange, yeah good deals but poor in every other dept., if you ever get a problem with your phone then your in trouble.
They may have changed but i doubt it.

I had a very early NEC 3 phone and that was truly crap but I currently have an LG 8120 on 3 which has been superb, really nice to use and the reception at home is way better than the Vodaphone 2g I had before. One benefit of the 3 services is the text news, nip for a dump at work and read the news !
Will definitely get another, have not had to deal with three other than the initial set up and they were pretty good then. The whole package seems a lot more integrated than the 2g ones, like its dead easy to check how many minutes of inclusive talk time you have left, that seemed impossible on my old one.

3G, not bad value for money but they always seem to let you down when you really need it (aaarrrggghhh)
Get on to a website called simply3g.com i think, i got a deal where i get 750 mins cross network, 150 free texts for £11.99 a month and a choice of phone too, not bad me thinks.
Theres prob better deals out there too now !!!!!!!!!!

You need to differentiate between "3" (mobile network company owned by Hutchison) and "3G" (high data-rate mobile phone technology, also known as UMTS in other countries). 3G phones are available from all 5 UK mobile companies (Voda, O2, Orange, T-mobile, 3). 3 is the one doing the cheap deals, and they're kind of struggling because they don't have a GSM network as fallback, so I think they lease O2's.

A 3G phone is handy to have if you need to access the internet via a laptop when not in reach of a WiFi network as it connects at about three times the speed of dial-up. I've also used mine to watch videos of the news and weather whilst on a camping holiday

I have a Nokia 6630 on Vodafone, and the phone is awful, crap, sh1te, bloody useless and any other term of awfulness you wish to throw at it.
In fact its so bad they replaced it a couple of weeks, and the replacement is no better.
It does everything except make phone calls!
