I e-mailed the seller before the end of the auction, and I got the reply this morning, it is a CAT D Write off.

he said something along the lines of I clearly stated it on my auction...

"Catd,alarm".

Means it's a Category D car, and it has an alarm.

So what's a Cat D then ? - OK - Answered while I was asking - I'd send scoobybabe's boyfriend round to collect

I could hardly read the the Ad anyway - I bet the guy used the car in a "musical" video recently

it meens that the car has been written off because it was damaged beyond economical repair.

Means it's had recorded damage of a considerable extent. It may be foocked, it may be nothing.

Still sneeky though

States" The vehicle is in mint condition apart from the scrape on the wheel arch" cleverly forgot about the w@nked gearbox.
If its scratched, dented, mechanicaly imperfect, then it aint mint!
Just shows, with Ebay you have to watch what you buy.
I bought my Scoob last year, saw it advertised on Ebay, and the sellers description was spot on, listeverything from a few dints on the body and a scrape on the bumper, to the dubious stain on the drivers seat? I bought the car there and then, and Ive not had a single reason to find fault or complain about it.
You pays your money and takes your chance.

Another clue is that the MOT has expired in August. Wonder why it's a write off though?

On a maybe 3-4 k car it would take not a lot of damage at all the make it a cat d, maybe only needing paintwork

Any more damage i.e suspension would deem it as a cat c write off

But your right its sneaky and theres no need for it.
