Default Orange .. tight on free upgrades...

I see orange have a shift in there upgrade policy,,,,

it appears that you no longer get a free upgrade at the end of 12 months,

you can have free promotions, but only get a new phone if you take an 18 month contract..

methinks it might be pac code this time round, or just take a new contract and bugger the number

It has been that way for ages! Ive been on orange for 8 years now on the same contract and I dont think I have ever got a free upgrade automatically?

I just play the disconnections game every time I have wanted a new handset.
Works every time- and not long ago they matched me to the same tarrif as just mentioned above...the o2 online one.
Just make sure you speak to Disconnections and NOT upgrades..... the upgrades dept do absolutely nothing for you

I've been with orange for about 7 years now and I have always got a free upgrade every single year.

This year is no different as far as they've said, however Vodafone have made me an offer which by Orange's own admission they can 'get nowhere near' so unfortunately its goodbye to them.

The service at Orange has always been ok for me, it was absolutely fantastic back at the beginning mind and has been just 'ok' since.

Agree there djuk, had been with Orange for 7/8 years, and got a GOOD free upgrade every year (not any old freebie phone, but the latest to be released). This year, Orange could not pull it off. I could never fault the service, though it has got worse and worse over the years, but Vodafone have given me a much better deal this time around, and Orange cant/wont match it. It was bye bye Orange 2 months ago, and so far, no problems. Vodafone customer service leaves a lot to be desired, but they sort it eventually, if you tell THEM what the problem is!

I've been with Orange for years and their customer service stinks now. I'll be leaving them next time. They tried to charge me £15 to administer the warranty when the phone broke. Cheeky *******. We spend around £300 on the phones a month so can tell them to **** off, but smaller users will probally struggle.

Go elsewhere would be my advice.

One word: Disconnections

Be nice, polite, but assertive and just say your not happy that you can't get a free new phone, but can get a free new phone (the one you want...say a w800i ) if you change contracts to another provider.

They seem to more willing to help you get what you want

Worked for me

(obviously shop around and line up a good deal with another provider first...incase they do tell you to sod off )

Yes Orange do seem to be tight on free upgrades, and they seem to have a very poor range of phones as well. Soon as I see a new phone I like I'm moving from orange to O2.
