Default help in finding address & phone number? Birmingham.

Taff,
There must be quite a few guys on here from the Birmingham area that could try and verify a B31 postcode address for you. A little leg work could be the help you need to pursue this.
Anybody in the B31 area?

From my understanding of Postcodes, the 31 will mean theyre 31 miles from the main sorting office in Birmingham.... So they could be in many places... its the end part of a postcode which will give you where theyre located!

Although typing B31 on Autoroute instantly brings up SW Brum. Between Northbridge and Longfield.... right next to North Wocestershire Golf Club on Bristol Road South

Hope that is of any use?

Cheers Harvey, we must keep personal details off here, but it wouldnt hurt to mention that he drives a ambulance for a living

tbh though I think I'm just clutching at straws, but I cant really let it go,because £112 is a lot of money to me

I am not 75 miles from Derby main sorting office, if I was, chances are I wouldn't be in Derbyshire anymore. I think you understanding of post codes is flawed.

Dave the last 3 is 1qs, I've searched the postcode details and someone very nicely sent me details of all the residents & numbers, but my mate the fraudster wasnt one of them so I think the postcode might be out of date, or the info someone sent me wasnt upto date, if thats makes any sense at all lol

The address is narrowed down to a part of St. Hellier Road, B31.
The subject does not appear on the electoral roll but the roll consulted will be two years out of date.
It needs someone local, prepared to do a little leg work to help Taff narrow it down and then allow him to take it further.

As already mentioned the post code system does not relate to miles from anywhere. It is a grid system starting with 1 at the centre of the town and so on.

Be careful what is said here in case anything happens to the guy responsible.

I was scammed for several hundreds of thousands of pounds not too long ago and the theiving bástard was protected better than the Queen.

He also knew if he made up a threat then I'd receive a caution, so he did!

He recently received 7 years for his trouble but technically keeps the money if he wants.

Why not take what information you have to the Police and let them do the legwork? It's technically theft, so they might be able to do something, then again, maybe not.

they will only tell me to take it up with ebay, wont they?
the bloke says he sent it special delivery but he has no tracking number, he is lying to me and has done for the last 3 weeks, I have proof of payment from my part, but he has nothing,
he also must want to hide something cause as soon as the transaction went through he put all his details as private, never mind could of been a lot worse

Push the CID. Make it easier for them to deal with it than having you on their case.

No, I mean exactly what I said. Would somebody get 7 years in jail for stealing a few hundred quid?

Sadly you'll prob find the scammer is long gone from the address, if they were ever there at all - most of these people will rent bedsits as mail drops, or use some junkies address and pay them a few quid, or free drugs, for the use of it.

Very few of them ever try and con one person at a time, so its odds on that you are one of many who has fallen foul to them.

TBH I'd write off the £112 - you're going to spend 10 times that in your time trying to find the person, and if you ever do and take them to court, you'll get 50p a week back from their dole ( while they are prob driving around in a brand new Merc ) if anything.
