Default Euro 4 Compliant

Does anyone know where I can find out information regarding Euro 4 Compliant vehicles?

Also, does this just apply to diesels or are some petrol engined cars Euro 4 Compliant as well?

I've found some info on www.comcar.co.uk but was after a bit more

Cheers
Ruth

Euro4 compliance is for diesel cars only. All diesel cars sold after september 04 were required to be euro4 compliant.

This is mainly a benefit to company car drivers, pre euro4 cars are charged 3% additional tax for a non euro4 diesel car. this is not the case with a euro4 car. 3% of a 20k car is a huge difference, and why you see SO many 03-04 audi company cars as BMW and Merc both missed the oppurtunity to adopt euro4 early to attract company car buyers.

To a private buyer the extra filters ect are expensive to maintain when required, so euro4 best avoided in the short term if looking at used cars. That you plan to keep and maintain for a while.

we were both wrong, just checked the hefty paperwork came, into full effect 01.01.2005. All new diesel cars sold and registered after this date HAVE to be euro 4.

It is the 3% waiver that expires on 01.01.2006

Can't be right mate as we have already passed 01.01.2005 and Euro3 diesels are still for sale.

Ford still sell Euro3 version Mondeo's and the Fabia vRS is Euro3.
