Awesome film!
This was the first rental video I ever watched (uncut version) when my folks bought a VCR, I bought it again recently to add to my collection.

What is the Lotus that the woman drives? Is it an Eclat or an Excel?

The Excel and Eclat are the same car; the former is the facelift which came later than this. Who Dares Wins was one of the first films that I went to watch on my own at the cinema.....

met lewis in a pub on the smithdown road in liverpool back in the early 90s - nice enough bloke but hes only about 5'7" !

That was probably Kelly's Wine Bar, great place great atmosphere.
