As title! ![Mad](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/mad.gif)
Cameras have been on the bridge all week - 2 on tripods facing traffic from Lewes. CCTV police van hidden at end of bridge.
Look like CCTV cameras with a square box beside them.
Pointing downwards rather than at a shallower angle - capturing images close to the bridge as opposed to further away by the looks of it?
Nothing on Sussex Police site re use of cameras there, and nothing about them using the automatic number plate readers on there either.
Can anyone shed any light on what they are?

Presumably it is part of the security measures for the Labour Party conference in Brighton next week. Basically they are looking for terrorists, so those of you minding your own business, even if above the speed limit, should be safe.

Chris is correct, it's part of the security measures for the Labour Party Conference. The ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Readers) are on all main routes into Brighton (stupid terrorists would never think of using minor roads
). Just for show IMO.
