The little men turn it into a gold skull then carry it back into the cave and it turns into the turtle...

I'm not sitting there doing it all again! 
IIRC:
men, water, trees, pot, tube, fire, bowl, spring, bone, ball
The pot and the tube had to be placed quite early on - they might be earlier in the sequence.
