£8 is very cheap!! works out below national wage for just the transfer in time!!!

wont be very good for that price (certainly hope I'm right!!!)

I wouldn't do it for that. But in all fairness, when I do it, I put on chapters/menus etc....

£8.... lol.... ...... <shakes his head>

I would _seriously_ consider only sending copies and never your original precious once in a lifetime home movie until you've tried/tested them a few times.

Hello

£8 sounds about right to me. I wanted to transfer some NTSC Mini-DV tapes and was quoted £15 (and VHS is easier / less specialised).

Could you not buy a VHS player for about 3 quid and do it yourself, for 4p a tape?

I wish Id received £8 per tape for the 23 hours of Cliff F*cking Richard videos that Ive just transfered to DVD for my girlfriends mother..... If you have a few cassettes todo then it might be cheaper to buy an (hardware) MPEG encoder card and do them yourself.

I've done this DIY style using our video recorder connected to the PC and using trial software such as DVDlab.
The time I spent on it makes £8 look very cheap.

If you dont have the right editing and DVD authoring software itll be difficult and without an MPEG2 encoding card the results will be disappointing anyway.
