The request for him to perform on television for Children In Need was, he says, the real start of his stunt-driving career. Terry finished his racing season in runner-up spot, which secured him a drive at the home of Legends in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA.

That trip was like most things that surround Terry, very successful. The final saw Terry robbed of second place due to brake failure, although he finished an amazing fourth, by unofficially using fellow competitors cars, as brakes for his own! The delighted frenzy that followed, not only robbed him of his prize money and a trophy the size of the Empire State Building, it brought him within a whisker of being thrown in jail. You see, Terry likes to perform, donuts are his thing, but sadly the American officials had other ideas. Once they managed to work their way through all the tyre smoke, and stop the car, Terry was forcibly removed, marched off at gunpoint, and 'escorted' out of town. Sitting alone in a strange country on your Birthday is bad enough, but being run out of town is one hell of a way to celebrate it. He recalls it was not too long before the rest of the 'lads' arrived, they were still falling about with laughter at what had gone on.

Terry Grant is a 100% fruitcake driver. As well as a seriously nice bloke who always has time for a chat. I've performed with him twice now @ MaxPower Live and its always a pleasure.
