FANTASTIC!
Weren't they the ones with the orange wrapper, with T E X A N written in stars and stripes ?
Chocolate on the outside, chewy in the middle?
Got to get me one of those. I wonder if they taste like I remember?!

Roo; I was just about to pose the question: what ever happened to Topics? I f*cking hate peanuts..... I havent seen a Topic bar since the mid-eighties. Have Cadbury stopped making Whispa bars too? I should eat more chocolate.....

Scooby Roo, Cabury's are bringing the wispa back!
I distinctly remember peddling my bike (Raleigh Grifter) all the way through the rain to get one the day they released them in 1981!

Are you sure about that? The reason that I ask is that I grew up in Matlock and Wispa bars were trialled there in 1984, nearly a year before they became widely available.

I hadn't even noticed Wispas had gone!!, the caramel one was nice.
Topics - Hazelnuts not peanuts or as they used to say as school Topic a squirrells **** in every bite
Texan verdict, smaller, softer and flatter, probably a health and safety measure, they used to be like Curly Wurly, you'd sink your teeth in and then pull, sending chocolate shrapnel flying everywhere

Squirrel's **** !
Is what we used to say - but them maybe Topics has a different manufacturing process round your parts
Ah - the bite-n-pull Texan - no wonder Kids teeth are knackered nowadays - no strengthening exercises .
Stardust/Spacedust (whatever it was called) was quite cool when it first came out.
Sherbet dib-dabs & Coke was always fun.
Jamboree bags - with the good old parma-violets.
ahh the memories

And what about Cadburys strollers - a bit like Revels except you got either Biscuit, Raisin or Caramel, instead of Coffee and other wrong things like that.
And does anyone remember the crisps (sorry - off topic I know) that Sainsburys used to sell up until a few years ago: Cheese Buttons they were called. They looked like little puffed up circles but were hollow and were cheese flavour. GUTTED when I found out you couldn't get them anymore - they were the BEST filling for a crisp sandwich!
