When I go to Heathrow/Gatwick from Southampton and round trip is usually £100. Not sure how the distance compares though?

£90 doesn't sound bad - say an hour each way, 2 trips. Total 4 hours + waiting time if plane delayed on way back etc. Plus running costs of the vehicle you don't just put petrol in 'em (although it might seem like it if you run a Scoob...)

Just booked flight from bristol to allicante. £60 return. Taxi from airport to resort. £120 return. Are they having a laugh or wot. So 5 hours flying is half the price of a 2 hour drive.

I've just been quoted £48 return from Gamston (4 miles outside of Nott'm city centre) to East Mids.. its only 15 minutes each way... looks like the scoob will be left in airport parking for the weekend

Parking was £19 plus petrol monies and worries of leaving the car there...

Ended up paying a tenner to TonyG for a lift there and about a tenner for the Skylink bus to Nottingham and the bus home.. turned out really well.. only waited 5 mins for busses in total.. public transport is great (when it works like on this occasion)

Pre-booking with a local firm may be cheaper, my one says they'll do LHR->Hertford for 50 quid if it's pre-booked. Last time I asked a cab driver outside LHR how much to Hertford, he said something like 150 quid, so I jumped on a tube.
