The M25 doesn't go to Birmingham! You must have also been on the M40

something one of my oldest friends would have argued with this time last year. he has family in Birmingham and we went there for my stag do. according to him (and the two passengers in his car), everyone else must have recorded their mileage wrong as he covered over 80 miles more than them to get to the same place from the same town.
i checked and said "you did go over the dartford bridge didn't you".
"course i did" he said.
took him a while, but he now agrees that the chelmsford to birmingham route is quicker if you don't go via Gatwick and Heathrow

And you only did 30 miles? That's pretty good going. The M40's about 30 miles from the M23 if you go round the M25, excluding a brief trip on the M4 and A roads as well

Wink

This reminds me of a lass I know, who asked me and a few other guys the best way to Epworth (N. Lincs) from our place of work in Scunny. (Someone has to work there, so shut up )

We told her an easy route, get on the M181, turn towards Doncaster, get off at the NEXT exit, turn left, go through Belton, and you're there. About 10 miles .

Next day we asked how she had got on..........she eventually admitted to having realised sh'e gone wrong when she got onto the M62

Check your maps if you don't know the area........about 30 miles detour!

Did 20-odd miles extra using sat-nav, as it only showed me which lane to take 10 seconds after I was committed to the wrong one - TWICE!
