You wont be doing 80 at Buckmore in a thunderkart. The Rotax Max's dont even get uo to that speed. Stay off the kerbs. Seriously, they had big issues with this recently and now they take a dim view of people taking to the kerbs to straight line a corner/chicane. Have fun in the put-puts

Woohoo! I won
Sexy trophy too, which makes a change!
it was absolutely like a river, but they kept the karts on slicks? Which was....interesting!
Sideways on the straight anyone?!
Also got a very nifty printout that shows a consistency graph, best lap, average laptime, best laptime, and individual laptimes etc.
I got the fastest laptime of the day by over 2 seconds, AND I currently hold the wet track lap record as they reset the lap records a couple days ago
My fastest lap today was 1:12.076, fastest ever lap (dry obviously) was something like 47 seconds
Top *average* speed was 37.3mph which seems surprisingly high!
He definitely said they reach about 80 by the bottom of the hill in the dry??
I cricked my neck too when someone hit me in the side as I was drifting one of the chicanes in the heats
And to finish off a top day, I'm off to see Supergrass tonight!

Forgot to say, we had one of our guys understeer right off and end up *under* a tyre wall! lol. Fortunately he was perfectly ok.
Regarding the curbs, you had little choice going over them in the wet, it was nigh on impossible to carry the speed through the bends staying on the track 100%

Those times look very slow to me
Did you get to do the chequered flag holidng lap of honor
The track is actually right on my motorway junction. I have only ever race on it three times.
I did one in the wet where I won (great equaliser for 17stone peeps ) and twice in the dry where I got a third place the last time.
Kent and Essex Scoobycrew did a two man team event last year a few junctions down in Sittingbourne, which is also a pretty good track.

We put all the times in a graph from the day and mine started of slower like all of us, but remained consistent fast-ish the rest of the time.
Some other people had fast and slower times on different laps (indicating a the times they held on to the Kart and the times they Span).
I never got fastest lap, but I got fourth fastest.

Yes, Buckmore is a pretty spectacular circuit, my nephew has raced the British Championships there for the last couple of years, and the downhill section towards the bottom section is scary to watch in the wet.
I think the staff may still be leading you astray on the speeds though, as my nephew cuts approx 42 second laps in the dry and 52 seconds in the wet,(this is with gearing that won't allow him in excess of 65-70mph). Never mind what speed you done, a win is a win! Well done
