wait until tomorrow please and I'll get the model number of mine from the car.

they're motorola ones and we used them when we went to the ring and you can understand each other clearly at well over 100mph and a good distance as well.

can't remember the price but it wasnt bad.

I would get it now for you but I've just discovered my burnout:revenge profile has corrupted and I've got to go all the way back to the beginning, and red wine is now my priority!!

If it's not too late I'd recommend 'Alan' two way radios, the Motorola's are good, but the Alan's are better. You can get them in Maplins.

We got little motorolla rechargeable ones from maplins for 30 quid. (Got them in May, so they might still have them) They seem to work OK up to about 2 miles through buildings/trees etc and over 3 miles line of sight

I've got some BT freeway ones which are basically repackaged Motorolas.
Very good indeed and recently got an iasus NT2 throat mic to look like a proper swat team idiot

My mate has got Cobras again with throat mics, great things.

I got some cheap Bitafone ones from Comet, and they seemed to work surprisingly well. Used them in Europe, and the range was pretty good - supposed to be 3km, but reckon it was at least that.

Only problem was hearing them when the cars roofs were off at motorway speeds, but this is to be expected really.

They only cost 17quid or something for the pair!

I have a single Alan radio that cost £65, it's much better than the family packs you can get for half the price, as with pretty much everything you get what you pay for.

A mate of mine had some he bought from an electrical supplier (he's a builder), they were about £60 and the range was half mile or so. I will try and find out the make and where he got them from

I have these bad boys:

http://www.oregonscientific.co.uk/product.asp?p=193

Work very well, as tested on a three car trip to Scotland last autumn, good range, clear sound, feel reasonably solid to use too.

Cheap but the best of the bunch in their price range. They get good writeups generally.
