Any one know of a simple way to automate the resize of photos?
I am currently using Adobe photoshop 6 but everytime i try to automate the process it seems to go wrong![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Basically I want to copy the photos off my camera and then resize the whole lot (normally 50 at a time) to about 300 x 400 pixels (about 25kb) but i would like to be able to adjust the size and quality if needed.
Anyone know of an easy program or way to do it?

Search for batch processing on Google, will do what you are after.

Download XP resizer, it is one of the windows XP free Powertools and is on the microsft windows XP downloads section - tiny file.
Install and then select any amount of photos and then right click and select res-size.

What's the problem?
Create a batch process in Photoshop and run it on all images ina certain location.
Job done.
How?
In the "Actions" window on the right:
- Click on the little icon at the bottom that looks like a new folder and should pop up saying "Create a new action"
- Name it
- Put it in "Default actions"
- Start recording just like a Word macro
- Save it when done
- Go to File,Automate,Batch
- Choose the action you just saved, the location of the targets and where you want to save.
- Run it
- Get a cuppa and relax.
- Job done.

I'm sure "paintshop pro" by JASC can do this with a couple of mouse clicks but this was a couple of years ago. I got the free version from the JASC website if it still exists...LOL

Look up JPEGCrops on Google - or just go to http://ekot.dk/programmer/JPEGCrops/
I use it to resize all my photos before I get them printed. So that I decide on what gets cropped rather than the devloping lab.
