Question Anyone else had to produce their insurance and MOT for company H&S purposes?

Just got an email from our office manager requesting that everyone provide copies of said ducuments for Health and Safety purposes. Never been asked before so wondering whats going on. Is it some daft new H&S regulation?

Those of us with car allowances had to provide insurance docs to show we were covered for doing business mileage... never been asked for an MOT certificate though!

if you use your car for business then i would expect them to be requested but not for H&S.

if you dont i'd question why they want them?

If its a private car and not used for business purposes then tell them to whistle.

But if you go to work in it, and it's parked on a parking space they provide, don't they have a right to know it's legal?

In the end, isn't this another one of those "If you've got nowt to hide" requests?

The company I used to work for asked for it. If you didn't provide the info you were not allowed to drive on business. They wanted to know points in last 5 years as well, I told them to get stuffed as it was personal info, and points over 3 years were "spent".

Dont think so as its private land, so in theory doesnt have to be insured and MOT'd, just taxed.

Points may be spent from your licence after three years, but companies can quite legally request you declare your points for the past 5 years.

Why? My understanding was that it formed part of the rehabilitation of offenders act?
Edited to say, that is why insurers can request the info.

What if you walk/cycle to work? Do they still want all this info or is just if you bring your car? I would personally tell them to go jump as points etc have nothing to do with them.
