My Latin teacher greeted the class initially with the words "Amo, amas, amat. You will NEVER forget these words and their definition!".
That was 24 years ago...
Here's a couple :
QED : Quad Erat Demonstrandum : That Which Was To be Demonstrated.
VITRIOL : This one's a bit different : Visita Interiora Terrae, Recificando Invenies Occultem Lapidem : Visit the interior parts of the Earth, by rectification thou shalt find the hidden stone.
Magick, with a bit of Alchemy for good measure.
I've quoted a guy called Aleister Crowley; even if you discount all the occult business, he was a Hell of a guy (sic!) and his Autohagiography is a really interesting read.
