So smoking is bad for you is it?, makes your clothes smell does it? Anti social is it? Grow up you fools. Smoking has been around for years, you never used to hear people whining on the band wagon....... ohh how could you? .............. can you blow that over there please?......... would you mind standing in my garden to smoke?......... My local is definately a smokers pub - you can tell by the amount that wafts out when somebody opens one of the doors

Just a bit of background for ya.

I smoke probably 2 cigs a day Sunday-Thursday as I don't like smoking in the scoob, Cannot smoke at work and generally can't be arsed when I get home. If I goto the pub though or out for a quick half, I will happily smoke 15-20.

I am the worlds greatest social smoker, I have been for 20 odd years and I really don't want to be told to **** off outside in order to have a cig. Just cos some arrogant jumped up 20 something reckons it's harming his health or some politician who smells an election coming on, wants some votes.

Last time I looked, there were more non-smokers than smokers, so that makes the non-smoking thing the view of the majority.
Biggest problem I have with smoke is that it's my choice not to smoke, yet when I go into almost any pub, I have NO CHOICE!

Oh, and having seen two relatives die of smoking-related diseases, I can confirm that it's a really unpleasant way to die early. Want the details?

To be honest I dont care about it aparently harming my health... Im not a health freak. Hell my last few meals have been Pizza, Burger King and McDonalds (Ive had a lazy week OK ) I just dont like going to the pub for a meal or even a simple pint and coming home stinking like an ashtray.... I like to go and play snooker once a week, in there for a couple of hours and come out stinking like Ive smoked a whole pack of **** myself....

Well it's allegedly been abolished, which is what they want to do with smoking, so they're heading the same way. Just because it's been around for a long time doesn't make it right you know

What you do in your own space doesn't concern me (and no I don't want to know what you do ) but I don't like having to breathe in smoke from other people. Even walking round town I have to move out from walking behind a smoker as I can't stand the smell.

So stay out of my space

If they ban smoking in public places then I have no choice, how is that fair? Oh it's OK so long as it doesn't affect me? Is that it?

With regards to the numbers of smokers v Non smokers. I don't suppose that was some kind of government poll was it or some survey conducted by the Anti smoking goons in what ever guise they decided to manifest themselves in?

So we can expect all the tax dodging, benefit claiming illegal trash to be banned next can we? As i'm sure there are far more honest hard working, hard smoking law abiding citizens out there that would put that higher on their to do list than banning a smoking in a few public places.

I too am a social smoker, never smoke in the Scoob and work in a non-smoking office, so can sometimes go Monday to Friday without a ***, even if i'm in a pub, but come the weekend and there better be a clear path from the bar to the *** machine cos i'm gonna be using both.

And all you do-gooders that can't wait for us to give up, look forward to making up the tax shortfall as the millions that the goverment earn out of us dries up, and it will probably get it from your road tax, as we all know that aint for the fecking roads.
