I'm looking for some info the subject. So far I've been on the website, got the tie (from somewhere else) and ended up with a book about the Septic version.
It's for the Old man who was in the (despised) RMP Reg.
He's now 74 and any info would make his day. He served in the late Fifties in Hamburg and the The Hook - Nat. Service. The Reeperbhan (sp.) sounded good though!
If anyone knows an ex RMP named Mayo or Meo, pls give me a shout.

Thanks M8.
I'll try that tomorrow; I just want to give him a small cheer-up. It was Inkerman Barracks where he was stationed initially. Named after a battle in Turkey (Crimea) I think.
I've been to Pirbright (Aldershot) barracks and did not enjoy it one bit. A huge site and it's also full of soldiers(!).

Chicester is now closed. The Joint Services Police School (Royal Military Police, Royal Air Force Police, Royal Navy Regulators, Royal Marines Police) is now at HMS Dryed in Portsmouth. The RMP museum is now located there.

I've had a look at the site which is very interesting but there is not a lot concerning Red-Caps. For enquiries about service records it'll take up to 40 days.
I was on the RMP website a while ago, "please allow 7 - 10 days for correspondance to be answered". This was over a fortnight ago.
I think I'll just sit it out.
Typical bloody army!

why don't you grab hold of a copy of soldier magazine, and put an ad in the searches column, meo or mayo might not read it but there is a good chance that someone who knows them do?
they may even have an ad in there looking for your dad!
