If taxes were not so high under new labour and the police did not install speed cameras on the race courses Best Mate would have retired years ago. So yes it is very easy to blame new labour.

Its always sad when any horse dies on-course but for Best Mate to go in his come back race is terrible. I heard on the news they have mentioned burying him at the course which I think would be nice.
