Well They can kiss my ****
This country is going to the dogs !!
Jesus so bleeding PC, it makes me sick. Bet if you ask these so called religions they couldnt care less. Are we talking about the religions that have made the UK their home? so they live here like the rest of us so whats the problem for ***** sake
I, for one, will call the Christmas lights what I want, they are called that because of Christ, not because of any other religious god. simple...
So robinson's jam lost the golliwog figure because of this lunacy, council's have changed manhole covers to something else and do schools still have blackboards ?? probably not
If the stupid people who have made up this crock of **** want to pamper to some people (who dont give a damm) then why dont they just call it XMAS lights if they are so worried.
No prat in some council will tell me how I call things.

I blame the Government
PC gone mad I tell you. Someone get a petition up or something. Christmas is OUR religious ceremony and I know a number of Non-Christians who celebrate the day as a family time. They still call it Christmas FFS.
This country is traditionally a Christian one. Do you think any other majority religion country would pander to our needs so not to upset the Christians? I think not!

I'd be quite happy to see Xmas less forced down your throat. Starting selling xmas stuff in October is crackers - shouldn't be able to sell anything xmassy before the 10 Dec IMO!

Do you have children? I think Christmas is a magical time for them and my daughter did the navity play at school last year even though there are some non-Christians in the school. They actually took part. I was trying to get across that alot of other religions don't have a problem with Christmas, it's other people being over-sensitive.
Bah Humbug. I know Christmas is being more commercialised every year and it bugs me to see stuff in the shops so early. But it is a great time to think of your family and bring joy to those around you. I love it and no one is going to make me call it the "holidays" like they do in the US. It's Christmas and always will be.

What, that's outrageous.. fek that.. they'll always be Christmas lights to me... do I bang on about being offended by Diwali celebrations? err NO. I'm sure most other religions don't complain about us celebrating Christmas either, just some PC christians trying not to upset others who don't care in the first and only end up pi$$ing off people of their own religion.

OllyK, I'm genuinely interested in what sort of lifestyle you are advocating?
Should we cancel all festivals and celebrations? I mean most of us do not seriously practice any religions so should we just get rid of any named holidays and replace them with such things as "Winter Bank Holiday" on the 25th of December?
Instead of telling people to read, why don't you spend some time watching how children enjoy these events, regardless of whether they are Christian or not. Perhaps that's something that is missing from your personality, you've forgotten how to enjoy life.

I'm sat beside someone of the Jewish faith who couldn't believe it's been renamed. He's never been offended and celebrates his own festivals (as do all his family).
I think the problem is that the religious message of the Christmas festival has been completely lost over the years. Since I don't practice any religion I'm not sure why I fall for all the commercialism every year.

We don't see any other religious festival (especially non-christian) being so blatantly forced upon the population for extended periods.
It's also the assumption that I'll partake in it and I'm taken as some kind of grumpy sod when I don't want to partake in a religious festival when I am not of that faith.

How many of us will be going to church on christmas day, very few if any,who even knows the true meaning of christmas. Its an excuse to get drunk and have a few days off and then we call ourselves christians.
Wether you like it or not when it comes to religion muslims and the like put us to shame, then we have the gall to say the prominent religion in the UK is church of england.

When are we going to stop selling our values and heritage short to please these bloody minorities? They want to live in this country then fine, but they better be under no illusions that this is Britain not a European annex of the mulim world. Accept our history and heritage or bog off somewhere else.
Death to political correctness can't come soon enough.

We get exactly the same stories every year at this time - nativity plays banned, blah, blah, blah. Nothing ever really changes - the papers just turn up the very few relevant stories and try to convince us the world is coming to an end.
Nice to see someone baiting Ollyk though - you don't even need to be a master baiter to get him going.

Id like to see a list of names for all these stupid retards who advocate all this ill thought PC related stuff.
Then, when some child grows up and:- (Eg) murders a disabled old women in their home simply because the PC brigade at the time said it was a good 'change' not to discipline children etc.....
We all know who to name and Sue for misrepresentation of the British people.
America has tried most of this cr@p 10 years ahead of us, and still we don't take notice of the ill-effects.
That covers, Crime, Sleze Lawyers and some extreme Civil rights laws.
Using a sledgehammer law/rule to crack a walnut sized problem, does not work long term.
