I'm doing a small personal project and wanted some input from you guys. Basically I'm wanting you to help me make a list of 10 modern/new things that you think are the best possible aftermarket parts/products ever. It dosnt have to be impreza specific but must be to do with motoring, and also its a "money is no object" list. It would also be of help if you could explain why the object you chose would be better than its competitors. It also dosnt have to be a replacement part, it can be an addition , i.e. road angel etc
so over to you lot![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Without doubt, it just has to be the Playstation Games - these can be considered aftermarket products as you do not need them to use the Playstation.
And, of course, they do plenty of motoring related games![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Alongside the more obvious kit, such as Road Angels Id like to propose an in-car camera and video recorder. A few years ago, after a number of close shaves I fitted a small colour camera behind the rear-view mirror linked to an inverter powered small VCR in the boot. Along with a remote power on and record buttons, it was quick and simple to use.
Ive noticed in a couple of magazines recently, a commercial flash memory based product that fits in the same place. It records a rolling 30-or-so seconds. Just think how usefull something like this will be the next time someone pulls out in front of you on a deserted road and then claims that youre a nutter who drove into the back of them......
This was fitted in a sprint/hill climb 944 and I sold it with the car, but Ive been thinking about doing it again in my Scooby, especially after a **** in a Punto (fast and furious) deliberately pullled out in front on me at Meadowhead roundabout the other day.

The commercial product is always-on and it records for 30/60 seconds; after youve used up the 30 seconds or one minute of recording time it writes over the first memory block. Hence my saying "...it records a rolling 30 seconds...".

I see, that makes more sense ....................... BUT, surely you need to remember to turn the 'ROLLING' off very quickly to capture it???
30 seconds simply isn't long enough ......... like I said, its all done and dusted before you have had chance to do anything to capture the images.

In-car PC. Ive been building them for a couple of years. Theyre available commercially but the prices take the **** completely. With a touch screen 7" widescreen display (no external input is required when you use the on-screen kb with a PDA stylus) you can play DVDs and CDs and store and play GBs worth of MP3s (using a special GUI front-end; MediaCar etc). With the addition of a simple USB GPS 'mouse' you can have satellite navigation although Im not aware of any (well known commercial) applications that direct you. Im getting Tom Tom 5 to run in a PPC 2003 emulator at the moment, but its easier just to use my Mitac Mio PDA/GPS...
