I'd like to get a price for a private nubmer plate to see if it's worth selling. Does anyone know of companies that give valuations?
Could I auction it off through a relevant auction house?
Thanks

there are loads of place who will offer to sell it for you - just call/email a few and ask them how much they would suggest selling it for. also try looking for comparables, in the same way as you would if you were about to sell your house
ps - what is it?

Got a couple of quotes , ranging from £600 - £3000!
Not quite sure if it will be sold yet, so for some reason I don't want to post the actual reg no here (not sure why, perhaps I'm being overcautious on not divulging any info on the internet
!!)

LOL @ newreg.com - in my experience, if you want the real value of a number plate, get a valuation from them, then knock about 80% of that and you've got the right price. I heard about their wayward valuations so I got them to value my plate a couple of days after I bought it at a DVLA auction and they valued it as 6 times what I paid for it!!!!

1 getting the suggested valuation
1 getting £150 less than the valuation (on a £1400 plate)
Seems not too shabby but what would I know

Let me know if you want to get rid of it, I'm after a cheapie ageless plate (non irish).

Do I own it? No, it's my wife's. She may sell it depending on its value.
