Default Replacement 240v Switch

I'm not sure if what I want exists, certainly google isn't helping, but then I may be calling it the wrong thing anyway.

In short, I have a standard 240V switch on the wall which supplies power to 2 fan heaters mounted in the kickplates under the kitchen cupboards.

At the moment, if it gets cold, we flick the switch until it warms up a bit and then turn them off again (doesn't take long with 2 x 3Kw heaters )

Anyway - I'd like to replace the switch face with a panel that allows me to set a min temperature. When the temp gets down to that, it switches the power on.

Does anybody know of such a thing? I can find them as part of dedicated home automation setups but I don't want all the other support gumf, just a one for one replacement.

Ta muchley

Well, a while back, RON of Dorset fame, posed a question relating to the connection of two car batteries, in such a way that the end voltage was 24V, but he could 'tap off' a 12V supply for another use.

In my haste to demonstrate my expertise in this field ( © TelBoy ), I, as a general batterymeister in general ( connection of 1800A cranking capacity multicell 24V systems for engines in excess of 50litres as part of the job ) offered my advive .

This advice however was slightly flawed, due to excessive consumption of Stella Artois, and some other stuff .

I produced a sketch for RON detailing how he should best connect the two car batteries together to serve his requirements. Unbeknown to me at the time, had RON carried out the connection to my instructions, there was a slight possibility that the error in the sketch would have resulted in a split second short circuit current somewhere in the region of 8,000 amps .

This in turn might have possibly resulted in the two car batteries exploding and vaporising in a hot cloud of Acid and molten lead in RON's face, possibly causing him some slight discomfort, or worse case scenario, death

Luckily, for all parties concerned, ajm was on standby to point out the error of my ways, in the polite and gracious manner to which we have become accustomed .
