Default How long do points stop on your license?

Thought it was three years, but my license came back after a change of address with them still on.

So how does that work for insurance - they can effect insurance for 4 years?

Most insurance companies ask if you have had any convictions in the last 5 years

As above for offences such as speeding, but for offences related to drink or drugs i.e drink driving they are on for 10 years I believe.

But for some reason insurance companies ask about convictions in the last 5 years

Don't you have to pay to have them removed after the 4 years anyway ??

Red face

they count for totting up for 3 years stay on for 4 you pay for the clean license unless something else changes, i.e your address.

seroius offences like drink driving stay on for 10

i have had insurance companies ask for 5 years back

if you are a new driver (passed after 1/6/97) 6 points within 2 years of passing = licence revoked and you have to reapply for provisional licence and may only drive as a learner unitl repassing theory and practical test (law RT(ND)A page 89 in my highway code!

ANYONE who loses their licence should have to repass their driving test.
