BBC 2 is showing a series of shows from 1998 all this week. Definitely worth a watch.

Sky+ being set up now. It's his non-PC views which make him so funny.

KbSub - Tommy Cooper always killed me "ooh, me teeth are itchy" - you might want to watch the Tommy Cooper special which is on Channel Five this evening.

I was fortunate to see DA on stage a few years ago, if you think he was close to the mark on TV, you should have seen him live

Pity he ended up in obscurity

If you record Tommy Cooper Special, it's listed as two separate programmes on Sky at any rate.

DA was an excellent comedian and raconteur.

See if you can spot his missing half finger.

K.

Edited to avoid ambiguity with TC.

Why does he keep it in a jar on the table beside him?

He was certainly a star entertainer. I found it really refreshing to see his style of humour again which would have the Roman sandal wearers jumping fr0m foot to foot.

Oh dear, I haven't laughed as much as last night in years.

Billy f******g Connolly in Australia and then DA. Then more Billy Connolly on UK Gold (I think).

I met him once, but that's another fable.

To cap it all I also have a collection of the scripts from "Porridge" which I haven't perused yet, should be good.

You can't beat a good laugh.

K.
