woke up yesterday feeling incredibly groggy, couldn't focus properly on anything, nasty stomach pains.
After laying around feeling sorry for myself for a couple of hours, I went to the bathroom and made myself sick as I just couldn't handle the feeling of nausea any more, and last nights dinner was basically undigested, which is exactly how it felt.
i then spend the rest of the afternoon with severe flu symptoms - aching, deep aches and pains in my bones and joints, especially my neck and spine, and down the backs of my legs. hypersensitivity all over - merely brushing against my skin was agony. unbelievably dehydrated, and then I had the mother of all headaches which lasted right up until I went to sleep last night. Oddly, I had no temperature, fever or sweats?
woke up this morning feeling more or less ok, which I find amazing considering just how bad I felt yesterday.
So, food poisoning? Gastic flu? Kidney infection (I had a lot of back pain)? Strange 24 hour virus??? Penance for the amount I have eaten and drunk over this xmas break??

I had this or a similar thing just before Christmas BTW. Not self inflicted or drink related.

The symptoms you describe are exactly what I experienced when I contracted Hepatitis (A before you ask
) a while ago.
If you have got Hepatitis, 6 weeks from now, more or less to the day, you will feel really run down, your pee will turn the same colour as cola and your jobbies will be white. If you have contracted it, it's important you give your liver a break and that means no booze or fat. Go see a doctor as a matter of course and get a blood test done ASAP.
Cheers

Did you eat any tinned fruit / tomatoes etc the day before?
A couple of years back I had very similar symptoms after cooking a spag bol with tinned chopped tomatoes. They tasted very acidic at the time.
Next day I was as you described with strong muscle pains in back & legs, nausea & squits, day after I was fine again.
I believe it was metal poisoning from the tin -- the acidity in the tomatoes had dissolved some of the tin's inner coating.
