Hi Folks
I'm planning a long weekend in Rome at the beginning of February - any recommendations on a good hotel to stay at? I'd like to be able to walk to as many tourist attractions as possible, and be near some nice restaurants. other than that, not too fussy!
Cheers.

The Hotel Ponte Sisto is near the Vatican, Pantheon, Piazza Navona etc and is 2 mins walk from Trastevere, where all the good restaurants are.

190 euro per night for a double room during Jan / Feb.

We stayed in a lovely hotel in Rome last autumn. Walkable to places, very trendy hotel, and had some good eateries/bars in the vicinity.
It was the Claridge Hotel, booked via gtahotels.com and cost about £100 a night per room IIRC.
Very modern, clean rooms, good breakfast etc etc, Rome is a nice place.

Was gonna add just that Olly, I went there for cheap weekender about this time last year.
Take warm clothing, its quite nippy at this time of year!
Staying anywhere around the Vatican is a good plan, nearish to the food area, and most of the major attractions.
Ours was a cheap B&B place but it was clean and cosy.
