Unhappy I've been burgled!!!

As title says. Got done last week whilst at work. Nicked our wedding rings/laptop etc etc.

The police are great. Apart from SOCO they don't bother to even come and ask around the neighbours to see if anyone saw anything!! Plenty down the road with speed cameras though!!

This is the third time I've been a victim of crime in 2 years....

Bad news mate, don't expect the police to do a thing mate, far to busy doing things that require minimum paperwork.

Sorry to hear that Deep.

I also had a visit 2 years ago, lost 30k's worth of gear, didn't set the alarm when I nipped out for 30 mins, so no insurance.

Police were a complete and utter waste of time, they're happiest nicking people for speeding/litter etc.

Soco found a rubber glove and a trainer imprint, might as well have left a calling card I thought...

Tried to talk to the Police again about it and couldn't even get a crime number from them or anybody to even acknowledge which officers came to the house.

My family are still worried about a revisit even now, 2 years later.

I wouldn't **** on my local coppers if they were on fire, waste of time and money, I'll meat out my own justice if I ever find out who it was.

Anyway, hope things go better for you.

Sorry to hear that you have been burgled

But, I think you will NOT find SOCO's down the road holding speedguns!

That would be the traffic police I think? Paid to stop criminals on the road ..... NOT paid to chase muggers, rapists or look at your windowsill ........

........ criminals? Yes, you know, speeders who MURDER people!

I'm really sorry to hear that. I sympathise but unfortunately that's all I can do.
It would appear that the State and it's appointed law enforcers really don't care too much.
Priorities of course, targets to be ticked.
Law abiding, pay your taxes, got insurance? Make a claim is the attitude.
That, it would appear is, is the way now.

i have been burgled 3 times in the past, and all within 4 months the police told me that they sometimes comeback as they know the insurance company will replace all the missing stuff with brand new goodies. so make sure you take protection just in case you are unlucky enough to be in the same situation. i would recomend an alarm ASAP

That's not a very kind comment. I assume you are suggesting that Deep is making this up to boost claim?

Burglaries are horrible and a little sympathy would be better than cheap shots.

Sorry to here you have been burgled

Police should have called asap. Although there is often little the police can do though as most burglars are forensically aware and leave little evidence behind. How did they get in..?

Sorry to hear of this. When Our house got broken into, The police were a bit p!ssed off at me wasting there time by getting them out. I had to demand the SOCO unit came round, that took them 3 or 4 days in the end and I wasn't supposed to touch the front door until they'd been. Not an unreasonable request.........

Except I lived in a flat with only 1 entrance at the time

I did get a phone call about 2 months latter with the officer saying he had a progress report. "Great" I said, "have you got my stuff back?" No was the answer, they'd made no progress and was shuting the case. Wan£ers

Hope your insurance covers you and they sort it out. Unfortunatly there's not much point holding out much hope that police do it seems

Yes indeed the police are all w£nkers and are too busy doing motorists etc, etc, etc

1. He said they had been great.
2. The burglars had gloves on and I'm assuming that if he had video footage of them in the house, he might have mentioned it. So go on all you fcukin Poirot's explain what the police should be doing to catch the culprits.

FFS gotta love this board

Oh and sorry to hear about the burglary m8, shoot the ******* at dawn I say

Sorry to hear that you got burgled. My house was done over when I was at uni, and they nicked every bloody thing. It's not nice, and even worse when the police do naff all.

On the topic of police...did anybody see that a policeman was suspended from being in contact with the public after being caught on a video interview talking to a colleague, and referring to a repeat offender (burglary) as 'pondlife'

how 'pc' does this country have to get....I'd call him worse things than that! chop his hands off I say!

I can't speak for all police forces, but ours take burglary very serious.

As soon as one occurs, officers are tasked to attend. That officer will remain at the scene until all possible immediate enquiries are done. (statements, house-to-house etc). SOCO will attend at the same time are at least the same day. Crime prevention will also attend within days and the victims are given information about victim support and neighbourhood watch ect ect.

All the enquiries conducted are then passed to a dedicated team in CID who will colate all the info. It will then be easier to spot if it a number of breaks are done by the same people. This also frees up the original officer to take on the next burglary.

By the way. 99% of all breaks these days are what we call walk-in-breaks. This is where offenders simply walk in through your unlocked front door even if you are in the house. They tend to be able to get into one or two rooms without being spotted or take you car keys (& car) from the hallway. So please get into the habbit of locking your doors.......!!!!!!

IIRC DS is a doc so may need to remove them for certain areas of work. for example, a raised jewel ring could easily tear a latex glove.

If you were a builder, you'd not want them scratched/damaged.

Could be any number of reasons. Do wonder why though in this case as for most people, the best and safest place for the rings is on their fingers.
