Default Has anyone ever bought/sold with Nigerians on ebay...

....and it NOT be a scam or something dodgy?

Has anyone heard of selling an item to a Nigerian person (or bought) and everything went through OK, no scam, no dodgy dealings, just a clean transaction?

I think I know the answer but people ARE STILL FALLING FOR IT!!

Am curious to know if it's ever been heard of. Nigerian tourist board must be depressed. Most people know would think of the place as the most dodgy/iffy place on earth! I know I do

I've sold a couple of old mercs to nigerians without hitch.

They were buying to have them exported to Nigeria and had agents here who turned up and paid as planned.

CASH only, though.

One of them asked to pay by transfer - I kindly refused and he said he understood due to their terrible reputation!

Probably something to do with the government of Nigeria running state-sponsored courses in how to defraud Western companies (I'm not joking BTW).... Tends to make people a little suspicious

guy at work sold a mobile on ebay to a nigerian, when he told me i shook my head and told him to watch out and expect to get shafted.

all went thru ok, this was over a year ago and nothing else has come of it. either the nigerian got shot or something before he could scam my work mate or he is one of the few honest ones (there must be a few in that country hopefully)

Not everyone from nigeria is a scammer, you know

One of the board members at the place I work is nigerian, and his friends "back home" are always buying computer stuff off eBay (legitimately).

Having said that, when I sell stuff on eBay I refuse to send anything abroad, because it feels like the risk of being done is so much higher then.

I sold a mobile on ebay about 2 weeks ago to a dutch woman who then asked me to send it to her husband in Nigeria.

No payment received and she's now been banned after someone else complained.

b!tch!!

I got this trying to sell a phone..(I never replyed)..............................Hey Seller, Good day to you,I saw your items displayed on this site which
fascinated my imagination just like the same thing that my son who has just
graduated and ready to begin with his own life had asked me to buy for
him.I will like to know if you can ship this items to Africa ,but I really
want this items to get to him before his birthday that's coming up in 2
weeks time.I will be making the payment through POSTAL ORDER coz I have an account with them simply because and for their newly introduced measure of security for both buyers and sellers.I will need ur name, address and phone
number and the actual amount you want to sell this item in order to make the payment as soon as possible. Thanks
