To be honest at 35 youre going to get good qoutes on both uk cars and imports.

As an example:

When i was 24 i had 1ncb and was paying 1400fc on a uk turbo with prodrive pack.

My brother at 27 is paying about 500fc with 2ncb on a standard uk turbo.

Both with Tesco.

Also my dad got a qoute for my car when he was 51 and was qouted 350fc with full ncb.

Try using the search facility, youll find loads of useful info on there.
Prices can be found in the Cars:for sale forum bit where theres usually a few 99MY up for sale.
As for insurance check out a few insurance websites to give you a rough idea of what youll be paying as age, location etc will play a big part in the final cost or check out the insurance section as well.

Depends on insurer, imports have a higher power output as standard, however are unmodified. The UK cars with PPP are classed as modified, although some insurers are finally beginning to acknowledge that the PPP is dealer supplied.

Import means lots of things.

I have a euro import. It costs no more to insure than the same car bought from a UK dealer.

Imports from Japan might be a different matter.......
