Well, the conclusions were that the scientists don't really know what's going on yet. However, it's OK as the media do! and they report as such with scaremongering headlines such as 11 degree temp rises and so forth. In this case, the scientists were testing a number of prediction models, most of which indicated 2/3 degree rise (maybe) and there was a very unlikely and extreme scenario prediction of 11 degrees. Guess which the media latched on to?

Also useful to know that global warming can lead to overall temp drops, esp in the northern hemisphere. The UK's 'warm' climate relies on the gulf stream, if there's global warming and the circulation in the northern atlantic may impact the gulf stream effect leading to cooler temps.

Anyway, all rather interesting and important to remember that even the scientists don't KNOW what's happening, they are only theorising and there isn't a general consensus throughout the scientific community as to what will happen.

Global warming is happening HOWEVER we don't know what affect this will have, whether it's bad news OR GOOD news etc. We certainly DO NOT know if humans are having any real or significant impact on this. Nature will cause this too. Remember we've had hot spells and ice ages many times throughout history without any help from man.

Ultimately all this talk of 'saving the planet' is CRAP imo. All it is, is humans wanting to preserve their quality of life. The planet will still be here well after humans are gone.
