Just seen a trailer for the PP
tell me its not true??
Now Peter Sellers was a classic, and the supporting cast Herbert Lom , Bert Kwock were superb support.
From what ive seen of the Martin version, its a turkey, how can he or hollywood think they can equal or better the originals
anyone else think the same.

Hi Mart.
I am a fan of the originals, not seen the trailers to the new ones, hard to imagine the Pink Panther without Sellers, Lom and Quock.
Hollywood’s producers seem to have run out of new ideas, in some ways I understand the remakes of King Kong for example as the technology has moved on and they are able to do the SFX justice.
PP is however a comedy and I do not see how they can improve on it.
Steve Martin was a Genius in The Man With Two Brains and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels but has done little to impress me since then.
I am not even sure I want to see a remake or a new PP film without the original cast
Paul

I agree with the above Steve Martin was funny way back when, but sadly no more.
Thought he would have learnt his lesson with the Bilko remake which was dire. (no one can replace Phil Silvers).
With regard to Peter Sellers(Pink Panther films), they made one after his death with an actor called Alan Arkin or Arden it was pretty poor. I believe Bert Kwok appeared in it and it still didnt work.

On one hand I think they should stop remaking the old films and come up with some new ideas - if they've got any.
But on the other hand the remakes of the old films are never going to be as good as the originals to people who are old enough to remember them but the youngsters of today won't be able to compare.

I thought you said yeur dog does not bite? ![Lol1](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/lol1.gif)
In the same vein they remade "The Ladykillers" (Alec Guinness, Peter Sellers & Herbert Lom) last year.
These remakes are just not in the same league.

Have to add two more films to the "Steve Martin's not funny anymore" list - Cheaper By the Dozen 1 and 2 ![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Haven't seen the trailers yet, will reserve judgement until I do, but I'm not expecting much.
