Got a question about external doors.
Just been told that you can put a door or window anywere in your house without permission - even if it looks out on into a neighbours???
So the way to get things done is to have an extension done (and in theory finished) and then go back and put a door or window in where you would not of had or would of got permission for ????
Can anyone confirm that
Thanks,
Dave.

You need to check with SaxoBoy. However, my understanding was that overlooking windows need obscured glass. You must also check with your local planning authority as some do have restrictions on window placement as well as style. In general though, just give your local planning officer a call and they will answer the question in the context of your area.

In most cases the formation of a door/window opening is permitted development but not all so you have to check with your local planning authority in this instance
